Tree Planting & Soil Compaction
Tree Planting Steps:
| 1. |
Measure the width and depth of rootball of your tree. |
| 2. |
Dig hole twice the size of rootball and slightly deeper than the depth, then measure depth. |
| 3. |
Pack hole with 50/50 mixture of compost and backfill to prevent the tree from settling, and leave center slightly higher than the sides of the hole. |
| 4. |
Plant tree 1" above ground level. |
| 5. |
Install 3 Deep Root Oxygen Pipes for a 5 gallon tree with 3 Nutri-Paks® facing upward. FOR A 15 GALLON TREE USE 4-5 PIPES AND NUTRI-PAKS®. |
| 6. |
Backfill hole with a 50/50 mixture of compost and dirt. |
| 7. |
Add water to help settle the backfill. |
| 8. |
Use shovel to get rid of any air pockets. |
| 9. |
Install a donut ring around the tree to hold water. |
| 10. |
Restake tree if necessary. |
| 11. |
Put extra compost over the top of the rootball. |
Tree Planting Questions:

Secret Tip:
