Tree Planting & Soil Compaction

Tree Planting Steps:
1. Measure the width and depth of rootball of your tree.
2. Dig hole twice the size of rootball and slightly deeper than the depth, then measure depth.
3. Pack hole with 50/50 mixture of compost and backfill to prevent the tree from settling, and leave center slightly higher than the sides of the hole.
4. Plant tree 1" above ground level.
5. Install 3 Deep Root Oxygen Pipes for a 5 gallon tree with 3 Nutri-Paks® facing upward. FOR A 15 GALLON TREE USE 4-5 PIPES AND NUTRI-PAKS®.
6. Backfill hole with a 50/50 mixture of compost and dirt.
7. Add water to help settle the backfill.
8. Use shovel to get rid of any air pockets.
9. Install a donut ring around the tree to hold water.
10. Restake tree if necessary.
11. Put extra compost over the top of the rootball.

Tree Planting Questions:
1. Why do you plant trees and plants 1" above ground level?
Answer: To prevent the tree from suffocating, due to lack of oxygen when the tree settles.
2. Why do you use deep root oxygen pipes and Nutri-Pak®?
Answer: To increase the root biomass by 300%, which will speed up the growth.
3. Do I need to fertilize my trees yearly if I use Nutri-Pak®?
Answer: No, the Nutri-Pak® will fertilize for up to 3 years.

Secret Tip:
Soak Nutri-Pak® in a bucket of water for 5 minutes, they will work 30 days faster.
Soak hole with a capful of Penmax® with water to break up the compaction for easier digging.

Soil Compaction Steps:
1. Presoak the area
2. Apply 4-8 oz. of Penmax® per 1000 sq. ft., then water in deeply.
3. Use 1 yard compost for every 500-1000 sq. ft.
4. Apply the necessary soil amendments needed for your soil.
5. Then rototill in the compost and amendments.

Soil Compaction Questions:
1. How compact is my yard?
Answer: Your yard was compacted to a 98% compaction level before your house was built.
2. Will sand compact?
Answer: Yes, sand will compact as hard as concrete, which will prevent the necessary nutrients and oxygen to your plants, trees, and lawn.
3. What is the #1 killer of plants, trees, and lawns?
Answer: Soil compaction.
4. Why do i need to use sulfur around my house?
Answer: High levels of alkali can do damage to your house and concrete.
